Hello, all! Kelpie here with some news. Long overdue news, but still news. So here's the deal-
We all want to see Divination back up and running, believe me, I miss the hell out of it. But with some of our staff moving onto other things, it's a bit difficult to get it back up. With other warriors roleplays around as well, it's hard to get back up. With college and jobs and life, it's hard to get it back up. With Irish still unable, as far as I know, to be on steady and having her own things in real life, it's hard to get it back up.
We all want to see it live again but we're going to have to think. I don't know about many of you, but I personally can no longer get onto FH. I know there's a trick to it and I was told what it was, but even with it FH won't let me on. Rising said she didn't want to move Divination to a deviantART group or anything, but at the rate we're going we're going to have to evolve or die. We do have a few choices, for those of you still coming onto the website.
1. Attempt a deviantART group. There already is one, and Rising didn't want to do that, but perhaps we can do a vote and see who would prefer it? Just a suggestion to keep us alive.
2. Wait until summer. This was Rising's idea, last I spoke to her a few months ago. But with FH the way it is, I'm not sure if it would be possible?
3. ..Yeah, I don't know, really. What suggestions do you guys have though?
We wanted Divination to be successful and member-inclusive, so I wanted to let you all know what was going on and give you the chance to help decide our future. I don't know how many people are still visiting, especially after the failure to update over Christmas (sorry about that!) but I want input.

This is the first time I've actually checked the site since the rp died and seeing this gives me hope, but not much. If anything, I would say wait until summer. Because what if not all the members are able to get on dA? And how many would actually keep up with it? Who knows. And honestly, FH isn't that bad right now. It makes me angry that we have to sign in on a different page and keep that page open to play, but other than that, FH is okay. So my vote is to wait until summer. u.u

We've not died! There's hope yet!
We could attempt a dA group, but a vote for it would definitely show you if it would be successful. There's some definite upsides to a group on dA, like more people would see the group, but it would need maintnence and active members.
Waiting until summer isn't a terrible idea either; I personally don't know what's up with FH as my laptop broke recently and I need to wait for a while to get a new one. Summer is also when everyone gets active and has more time for FH.
No matter what it turns out to be like, I'll be around. And if we die,well. I'll be a cool skeleton that wears sunglasses. ^^"

A lot of us have moved onto other RPs, but that doesn't mean we've given up on Divination.
I believe that Summer is our best chance, if you do not want to move onto a site. There is a possibility of moving to another game-- but let us be honest, they won't match up to FH. If anyone has a recommendation for a game/platform/site though, we should probably check it out, but if not we should stick with Feral Heart. dA although having its pros, might not be accessible to other members as TheCryingWolf said.
FH has its complications at the moment, but there is still a possibility it'll fix itself if some of the moderators don't run it into the ground. It's been especially difficult for those with bad internet to get on, and is exceedingly frustrating, being said it has decreased the FH population by half. Still, it could be worse. The sooner we get back on our feet, the better our chances of survival will be. If we die though, we die.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean- why would all members not be able to get on dA? It's a free website, is in about every country I believe, and as long as your above 13 (like in FH) you can have an account. I can understand why people might not keep up with it, but people might not keep up with anything. Personally I can't get on FH, which is why I suggested it. I don't know how many people are similarly unable to get on FH.
Everything needs maintenance, even this website as dead as it is. dA would be no different, except that it might be a little more active considering that I am on dA about every day, and it would be easier for people to log on and communicate. We could still use this forum, of course, but dA could be a way to get members and draw people in.
I don't mind waiting for summer either, except for the fact that if we do, there is still the problem of people not being able to get on FH. From what I understand, FH was hacked by a group of people claiming to be from another MMO website, similar to FH as it takes the basics of IT and expands them. In response to the hacking, FH has made it more difficult to log on- you have to have a tab of the website open to get onto the server I believe. However, that doesn't work for me.
I don't mind waiting, but we more or less are dead. There are a few people still on skype but not many. About the only people I really have contact with are Leviathan, Hypo, Swen, Rosie, Deathy, Rvrsd, and Irish when she can get on a computer.
In all honesty, it seems like a lot of people have given up on Divination, including some of the staff. I know I don't come on every day, but I have school, a job, and several old animals to take care of including my horse. I don't have the time at the moment but I do check up on the site at least once a week. At most, I've seen one person on besides myself, and it is usually Levi, Hypo, Deathy, or Rvrsd. It really seems as though we are dead. Since we were supposed to pick up around Christmas, nobody else has really been coming on.
There is always the chance of FH fixing itself but with how crappy the mods can be in general regarding players modding other players, players threatening other players and using derogatory language (of all kinds, there were a few particularly bad ones I've seen personally), and other assorted things, I don't believe it will every fully recover. I love FH and all the memories I have made there, but it is dying. Slowly but surely.
I wanted to get opinions because I DON'T want Divi to die, even though it seems it is. I am in contact with some SC members on Skype- which is another option. We could always host some aspects of the group on skype if we were on, say, a forum or deviantART. We could have Clan chats, OOC chats, etc. I'm starting to believe more and more than FH simply may not be an option due to my own issues with it, and if I can't get on and other mods can't get on, it will no longer be usable.
I am still very much open to suggestions on what you all think we should do. So far I have gotten only these three replies. I know that many of the staff have dA accounts (Rising, Pk, Swen, Hypo, Levi, and myself I know for certain) and that there is a Divination group on there already. As much as I would love to continue on FH, I simply don't see how it could be an honest option. If we were to move to deviantART (and I use it as an example because of the time I am able to spend on there) members could roleplay at their own pace. We could have seasons, events, clan-wide chats, and other things using both dA and skype. I understand that not everyone is artistic, but I am sure that they could find help or write instead of strictly draw. It's very flexible. And like I said before, we could still use this forum for things as well like character sheets and 1x1 RPs, the shipping board, etc. My only concern is that for many, FH may no longer be a viable option due to the crap it has become.
Please, though, if you have any suggestions for what else we might be able to do - other websites, etc - let me know. I don't want to see everything that the staff and members have worked so hard for wither away. |

I can only think of DeviantArt, Skype or forums, which have already been suggested I believe. Personally, I don't mind where Divi is situated as I'm more than happy to stick around.
Waiting until summer does sound like a good option as well, however as Kelp said, things on FH haven't been too great due to the hack and the popularity of FH drastically dropping. Honestly, I'm quite biased towards DeviantArt as its what I'm most active on nowadays, as well as Skype, and as long as staff are dedicated and willing, the roleplay can last. I know that people are struggling with getting on the Internet nowadays, especially staff as Irish can't always have access to a computer, Ri is busy and as are Kelp and others, but a forum or DeviantArt roleplay would be slower paced so people may have more time to respond, etc.
If the admins are up for keeping the roleplay going then I'm more than happy to back everyone up and contribute.

Like Hypo and Kelpie said, I'm sticking around as long as it's up. But I do have some troubles getting on FH as I crash every time after I get on for a while. I'd say dA is the best option we have if we are going to move away from FH since some forum rps don't last all too long.

Truthfully, I'm open to anything since Div' has been such a learning experience and actually one of my favorite roleplays I've had the pleasure to be in.
I think just expanding is something we can do; staying small is not going to help us at all. DA is a good idea, mainly because it's pretty large, free, and there's a higher chance of survival. Skye I suppose could work; I personally don't use it but I've been planning to make an account soon anyways.
We could wait, yeah, and see if FH is a viable option or not. There's a chance it's not, but because I just got a new laptop and haven't had a chance to reinstall it (my precious cow husband (Iron Bull) comes first), I couldn't tell you if it is a good idea. I personally enjoy using it because it's simple and generally works well, but from what you guys have been saying it's been getting pretty bad. Which sucks because FH is, or well, was amazing and where we started.
We might have to wait regardless, though, to get everything set up properly.
